St. George Island is off the coast of Florida's panhandle, accessed by a long bridge from Eastpoint, Florida. Apalachicola is just west of Eastpoint, a few miles away. The nearest airport is Tallahassee Regional Airport, just under two hours away by car. Six car rental agencies (Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz and National) serve the airport. If you are flying into Tallahassee and would like to consider the possibility of carpooling from the airport with another retreat participant, please email me and we'll share names of others interested in sharing a rental. Once on the island, turn right onto W. Gulf Beach Drive, which becomes Leisure Lane and takes you to the entrance of the lovely gated community of St. George Plantation. You will need to check in with the gatekeeper, who will find your name on a list and issue you a vehicle pass. Ask directions to Abbeyfeale. We'll look forward to seeing participants at 11 a.m. on November 12th. If you expect to have time to spare in the area earlier that day, you might want to check out the local papers, "Forgotten Coastline" and "Apalachicola Times" to learn about local events and places to go.

Carpooling is recommended, not only for the companionship and economy, but also because parking space is somewhat limited. Parking in the street is not permitted in the Plantation.
