Nearly 100 old fashioned yard sales all over town!
You may enter Thurman via route 418, as shown by the marker on the map ( you will need to click to enlarge it), or from Stony Creek, The Glen (on route 28), or from Johnsburg, via South Johnsburg Road. This year your adventures will to little far-flung roads near Crane Mountain, up South Johnsburg Road, over Mountain and Valley Roads, out Glen Athol Road, down Huber, all along River Road, even Cameron, Combs and Dippikill Roads. Sales are everywhere, and you won't want to miss a single one. Just follow the pink signs for miles of smiles and bags of bargains.
Follow HOT PINK signs to Thurman. Pick up maps with information pages at sale sites nearest the edges of town and at the Thurman town hall (while supplies last) or DOWNLOAD ONE HERE. Note - the online list is updated during this final week as sales are added, so check back. DO GAS UP before driving to Thurman, as there are miles of smiles, but not a gas pump in town.

Surprises for Sellers and Shoppers!
The Thurman Townwide Sale is always a fun-filled weekend, with lots of surprises for sellers and shoppers alike. Sellers are always amazed at all the "stuff" they find stashed away once they begin their spring cleaning, and how many items they can put out for explorers at the annual sale. There are household items, tools, toys, vehicles, boats, plants, clothing, crafts, musical instruments, antiques and collectibles--you just never know what you will find. Once in a while sellers and shoppers alike are surprised by inclement weather, but we always make an effort to continue the sale no matter what Mother Nature dishes out, so come on over.Services available:
MAPS: Maps will be distributed at the sales nearest the borders of town. Follow pink arrows to find the sites. One will also be posted here about one week before the sale.
PHONE: Although you may have difficulty getting a signal with your cell phone (we all have our favorite spots: near the top of Sky Hi Road, near the intersection of Mountain and Irving Baker Roads, and at the Thurman Station Bridge, to name three), there is a public phone at the town hall, right inside the entryway. You may make only local calls or credit card calls..
GAS: There is no gas station in Thurman! Fill your tank before you come so you can visit every sale on your list.
RESTROOMS: Stop at Town Hall (311 Athol Road), Thurman Baptist Church (not Sunday a.m., please), Glen-Hudson Campsite (564 River Road)
FOOD: Visit Athol General Store (115 Mountain Road), which may or may not be open, The Glen Lodge and Market (1399 Glen-Athol Road), Glen-Hudson Campsite (564 River Road) or note on map sites individual sales that indicate food will be served.
ATM: Athol General Store, above, may be open with ATM available.LODGING: Contact The Glen Lodge B&B or email Taste of Poland, Daggett Lake Campsite, or check in with Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce.

FROM WARRENSBURG:
From Adirondack Northway Exit 23, go north into Warrensburg on NY State route 9. At the Warrensburg Health Center, turn left off route 9 onto NYS route 418, and follow it over and along the river. Cross the river again and you're in Thurman--about 4 miles in all.FROM STONY CREEK:
Leave Stony Creek center via the Warrensburg Road, Lanfear Road or Murray Road. You'll see "Welcome to Thurman" signs in a few miles.FROM NORTH CREEK:
One choice: Drive south on NYS route 28 to the traffic light in Wevertown. Turn west on NYS route 8 and then turn left (south) onto South Johnsburg Road in the hamlet of Johnsburg. You'll find sales beginning about 6-7 miles down the road.
Another choice: Drive south on NYS route 28 to The Glen. Just after crossing the railroad tracks, turn right onto Glen-Athol Road. You'll start seeing hot pink signs that will lead you to sales.
